Trumpty Dumpty’s characters

All this Trump bashing has me mystified — the man is a genius, even if he says so himself. A stable genius. Look at his way with etymology — that most excellent science of naming things. Not since Art Spiegelman, the Pulitzer Prize winning New Yorker cartoonist, has there been a keener understanding of the power of a nicely truncated, two-word play on names. Spiegelman created an alternative universe for children with a dark sense of humour and a desire to terrorise their Cabbage Patch Kids. The Garbage Pail Kids are a sorry allotment of misfits and sociopathic dolls direct from casting central. He inaugurated the series of trading cards with Adam Bomb and it went downhill from there, much to the average kid’s delight and amusement — Hairy Mary, Bony Tony and Heavin’ Steven are personal favourites.

Now Trumpty Dumpty has coined his own set of characters — Crooked Hillary, Sloppy Steve and Little Rocket Man. They are like, really popular. And smart.
