Cows, officer? What cows?

Where does the ANC find its MPs? Some of them are truly a rare breed. This week party backbencher Mmapula Mofolo, who earns about a million rands a year, appeared in court on a stock-theft charge. She and her lover were arrested for allegedly stealing two cows in Schweizer-Reneke, North West. When her provincial party bosses sought answers from her, she claimed she had given her boyfriend a lift to sell the cows at a nearby auction, only to discover that the beasts had been stolen. What she does not realise is that this makes her an accomplice to a crime.

No wonder comrades keep saying “there are no holy cows in the ANC”!
