NORTHERN HIGHLIGHTS
It hasn’t opened yet, but it’s about to be one of the world’s coolest hotels: a oneof-a-kind new floating oasis, opening later this year near the Arctic Circle.
OntheLuleRiverin Swedish Lapland, near the village of Harads, the Arctic Bath Hotel and Spa will be frozen in place into the ice in winter. For the rest of the year, it will float — though it will be anchored so it doesn’t wander off.
Just six 25m² log cabins will house up to 12 guests, who will arrive via a wooden walkway from the mainland.
The central feature will be an openair bath, where guests can take a chilly plunge followed by a hot sauna.
Rooms will be about 5 000 Swedish Krona (R7 600).
