A flaming coup for Elon Musk
South African-born entrepreneur Elon Musk pocketed $5.4-million (R65-million) profit this week when his Boring Company’s new flamethrower went on sale. At just over R6 000 each, Musk warned against anyone buying one, although he conceded they would be useful when the “zombie apocalypse” comes. Whether it’s a real flamethrower or just an ordinary blowtorch, most agreed this was a minor sales coup for the boykie from Pretoria: all 20 000 sold out.
