Tsamaya

This week’s soccer buzz

-

● Former Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba’s attempt to challenge his former boss Danny Jordaan for the Safa presidency got off to a rocky start this week as his team lacked the means to make things happen.

Mashaba was supposed to present his election manifesto to the media this week but he was nowhere to be found, with those who had their hopes on him claiming they “had difficulty in finding the venue” to host the hacks.

Had Mashaba and his team bothered to speak to the relevant people we are sure Shakes would have been accommodated. After all, his cause is a noble one. We hope next time Shakes will ring us, as Tsamaya boast of accommodation contacts stretching from Nkandla to Saxonwold.

● Trophy hunger makes coaches turn to the deities for deliverance. One Steve Komphela, who knows that his days are surely numbered at Naturena if he doesn’t bring a trophy by the end of the season, channelled his inner Bushiri in an attempt to bless Kaizer Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup run. Amakhosi have a tricky tie against Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium today.

“If the Almighty were to come now and say to me‚ ‘Make a choice – that you perish‚ and we grant the trophy to Kaizer Chiefs‚ or you stay alive and (don’t) compete for the trophy’‚ do you know what my option would be? Take my life‚ my Lord. Let the people celebrate,” preached Pastor Stevovo of the once Almighty Amakhosi. AMEN Mfundisi!!!
