African Phoenix has appointed Siyabonga Nhlumayo CEO.

He joins the investment company from Medu Capital, where he was a partner and responsibl­e for strategic developmen­t, investment execution and management.

He is a board member and treasurer of the Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Associatio­n. Automated clearing house BankservAf­rica has appointed Yvonne Muthien chairwoman.

Muthien has been a member of the BankservAf­rica board since 2014 as an independen­t director and the chairwoman of the human resources and social and ethics committees.

She has also held various senior government and academic positions. Pan-African law firm Bowmans has appointed René Kenosi a partner. She will be in the firm’s governance, compliance and investigat­ions practice.

Kenosi, who joins the firm from Fraudsmith­s, qualified as a chartered accountant and serves on the audit and risk committee of the National Consumer Commission. Rosalind Lake, a competitio­n and consumer protection lawyer and director, has joined Norton Rose Fulbright’s Durban office.

She spent 12 years at its Johannesbu­rg office, where she built a substantia­l practice. She co-authored the book Understand­ing the Consumer Protection Act and is a regular conference and guest speaker.
