Liberty has appointed Yuresh Maharaj group financial director.
Maharaj was appointed Liberty’s executive head of finance in September 2015.
Before this he was a partner at Deloitte for nine years.
Maharaj has an honours degree in accounting from the University of Natal and is a chartered accountant. The Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority has appointed Eddy Khosa interim chairman, following the resignation of Pumzile Kedama. Khosa was one of nine Cathsseta board members appointed by the then minister of higher education and training, Blade Nzimande, in April. Delta Partners, an advisory and investment firm specialising in the telecoms, media and digital space, has appointed Sharoda Rapeti a nonexecutive partner.
Rapeti has more than 30 years’ experience in the electronics, broadcasting and telecoms sectors, having advised both blue-chip companies and public sector clients. Brett Dawson will join the board of Ubusha Technologies, an information and communication technology company.
Dawson will give strategic input into the company and play an advisory role in building the management team. He is well qualified for this, having been the CEO of Dimension Data for more than a decade.
