A spring in a veteran’s step

I totally disagree with those who have described David Jones clothing as boring, “‘Boring’ David Jones clothes are not what South Africans want” (Readers’ Views, February 4).

Over the past six months or so, I have been wearing dresses from the David Jones range. I have been greeted with various comments, such as “you look so chic”, “fantastic” and even “glamorous”. I find this heartwarming as I am in my early 80s, needing a size 8 or small, and I haven’t received compliments such as these for many years.

Thank you, Woolworths, for making this possible, especially as I, and many like me, have to manage on a small pension. Please retain this affordable range in your stores for “us oldies” who still wish to look and feel great.
