Designer of Salt swimwear

What are three details that encapsulate the Salt Air Iconic Collection?

Colour blocking, versatility — the collection varies between reversible styles and pieces that can be worn more than one way — and fit. The luxurious fabrics fit like a glove in all the right places.

How would you describe the Salt Air woman?

The Salt Air woman is sexy and confident; active and carefree, and is willing to push limits in fashion. She feels comfortable in her own skin.

What was the inspiration behind the colours and cut of the collection?

I wanted bold and fun colours that stand out in the crowd to make you the centre of attention. By modernising classic styles with sexy silhouettes, you can feel confident and comfortable while active — whether you are surfing or strutting your stuff at a pool party.

Tell us about the innovative technology used in the material production

I use a sustainable fabric from Italy made with Econyl, which is a 100% regenerated polymide fibre. It is more resistant to chlorine, sun creams and oils. The results are achieved thanks to innovative construction and the presence of LYCRA® EXTRALIFE.

Animal welfare is important to you. Will we see a collection influenced by this?

I immerse myself fully in one collection at a time so it’s difficult to think past what I’m working on currently. However, I’m passionate about helping animals and hope my brand will help better the lives of some of them.

What upcoming trends do you have your eye on?

Continuing to be environmentally friendly, the contemporary retro influence and using different textures in fabrics like velvet ribbed with touches of metallic.

What’s next for the Salt Air brand?

Taking one step at a time and focusing on building the brand.
