THE SMOKY EYE

-

Jet black, highly pigmented and almost panda-like, the classic smoky eye is the symbol of rock-star status

THE NEW CLASSIC:

The new smoky eye is still ultra smoked out but is applied only up to the crease instead of over the whole eye, and is not confined to black shadow.

TIP 1: Use approachable jewel hues such as deep emerald, chocolate brown or purples to give the smoky eye a modern appeal.

TIP 2: A smoky eye doesn’t have to consume the whole eyelid surface. Use a kohl liner to rim the upper and lower lash line and smudge out the colour until there’s only a sheer halo of colour left.

TIP 3: Blend a powder eye shadow into the crease of the eye and keep the eyelid clean for a modern, inverted smoky eye.
