An unusual travel company is on the hunt for some social-media ambassadors to go on an all-expenses-paid adventure in Europe this summer. Busabout, which offers flexible holidays on a hop-on, hop-off bus network, is looking to put together an Ultimate Travel Squad of four. Each member will be selected to handle a specific social-media platform and to create envy-inducing posts as they wend their way across Europe over three months, from early June to early September 2018.

The value of the adventure is estimated at about R80 000.

Specifically the hunt is on for one Instagrammer, one blogger, a vlogger and a Snapchatter or Instagram Stories creator.

Each one will get an unlimited hop-on hop-off pass, accommodation, spending money plus a bonus fee at the end of the trip. Return flights from each person’s home country will be included too.

The itinerary will tick off some of Europe’s trendiest spots, such as Lake Bled in Slovenia; Krakow, Poland; and San Sebastián, Spain. ELIZABETH SLEITH

The four will also venture off the beaten track to spots such as the hikers’ paradise of Grünau in Austria, and the adrenaline-junkie haven of Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland.

The trip will culminate with a week of sailing in Croatia.

To apply for a spot on the squad, you need to select your preferred social platform (Instagram, Snapchat/Instagram Stories, YouTube or Blogspot) and record a 60-second video showcasing why you’ll rock the “job”. Extra points, naturally, will be awarded for creativity.

You can also apply with a partner or group of friends — just submit a video together, ensuring to select a different social platform for each person.

Videos can be submitted on the Busabout website and entries are open until mid-April 2018.

Last year, Busabout launched a hunt for two travel addicts, a brand ambassador and video producer, to fill two positions it billed as “The Best Job in the World”.

With 5 354 applicants, the spots went to Australian Leanne Melody and American Jake Baine.

You can see their entry videos, and what they produced on their trip, at busabout.com.
