Chapter and worse

Our new No 2 , David “DD” Mabuza, had his maiden question and answer session in parliament this week. MPs wasted no time in taking on the Cat from Mpumalanga, given his questionable past in the province he presided over.

Leading the charge was Agang’s Andries Tlouamma, who told Mabuza he was not credible enough to lead the moral regeneration movement. But deputy speaker Lechesa Tsenoli was the more entertaining in a race to the bottom between him and Tlouamma.

“Honourable member, you are worse . . . you’re worse than I thought. You [should] withdraw that remark, ask your question and sit down,” said Tsenoli.

Tlouamma hit back: “Deputy speaker, I don’t know between you and me, who’s worse.” A case of the kettle calling the pot black.
