Hilan Berger has been appointed head of institutional business development at 10X Investments. Berger, a chartered accountant who joins from Consilium Capital, has extensive experience in financial services, having worked at global groups including Barclays Capital, HSBC Africa and Standard Chartered Bank. Law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed Sbu Gule CEO, while Marelise van der Westhuizen has been appointed executive chairwoman. Both appointments are effective today.
Gule, president of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces, has been with the firm since 2000, serving as chairman since 2012.
Van der Westhuizen is a director in the commercial litigation team and the head of the risk advisory practice in South Africa.
Gule and Van der Westhuizen will serve on the firm’s executive committee alongside deputy CEO Mark Gilbert and chief financial officer Thuli Moyo. T-Systems South Africa has appointed current chief financial officer Dineo Molefe MD. Incumbent Gert Schoonbee will hand the reins to her on April 30 after more than 18 years with the company.
Molefe has an MCom from the University of Johannesburg and attended the Wharton Business School.
