Construction and plant hire equipment under the hammer

Two-day auction of 800 lots will be largest of its kind in W Cape

-

● WH Auctions Cape has been instructed by the joint liquidators in the matter of NMC (Pty) Ltd (in liquidation), NMC North (Pty) Ltd (in liquidation) and BH Plant Hire (Pty) Ltd (in liquidation) to auction off 800 lots over two days.

Martin Dibowitz, who heads WH Auctions Cape, believes the auction of the movable assets of the construction and plant hire companies will be the largest of its kind for many years to be held in the Western Cape.

“We have had to split the auction over two days as there are too many items to sell on one day,” he says.

“The auction will be held at two of the liquidated companies’ sites in Montague Gardens and Vissershok.”

The focus on the first day of the auction will be mainly on the sale of the earthmoving equipment such as graders, rollers, road reclaimers, TLBs, telehandlers, chip spreaders, pneumatic rollers and excavators and the transport fleet such as tippers, cement mixers, crane trucks, water tankers, dropside trucks, horses, lowbed trailers, bakkies and panel vans , he says.

survey equipment and a Potain self-erecting crane, will also be available as well as a large amount of scaffolding, ski cabins and containers.”

In addition, the contents of about 80 offices, ranging from laptops, PCs, colour copiers and printers and large-format printers to executive office furniture and equipment will go under the hammer.

On the second day, accommodation units, office containers, storage containers, access containers, small plant, road signage, a Potain tower crane, traffic units and a large quantity of scrap metal as well as more furniture and equipment will go on the block.

“The list of auction assets is being updated daily as all the equipment is being collated,” Dibowitz says.

The auction will start at 10.30am on Wednesday at 1 Link Close, Montague Gardens. The sale will continue the next day at 10.30am at NMC’s Vissershok farm.

The assets may be viewed at the respective venues between 9.30am and 4pm tomorrow and on Tuesday.
