Confession comes too late
Two years ago this Mampara was the Chief Defender of the Gupta family and their corrupt network. When asked about his relationship with the family in November 2016, he said: “If I want to go to the Guptas, I will go. I am not prohibited by any law of the country not to go there. To me, they are not a problem. I’m engaging them and my other stakeholders.” Now that there is a new sheriff in town, the Guptas have fled the country and the NPA and the Hawks have developed an appetite to deal with the Gupta lackeys, this Mampara finds the courage to speak out. It is disingenuous for Maine to blame Supra Mahumapelo for his own actions. His latest move is not a form of heroism. It’s the scoundrel’s last-minute attempt to distance himself from the looters. Sorry, Oros, too little, too late!
