Lots of Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and Nissan trucks on the block
Sale of NMC property offers treasure trove of construction hardware
● Following last week’s massive auction of the assets of liquidated NMC Construction in Cape Town, WH Auctioneers will be offering the company’s inland assets as well as those from various liquidations, bank matters and fleet owners at their monthly Midrand construction auction taking place on Tuesday at 10.30am.
The auction sees a huge number of latemodel Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and Nissan trucks on the block, including tippers, diesel trucks, water carts, and mechanical horses.
Seven late-model Caterpillar, Volvo and Dezzi articulated dump trucks will be flanked by a large selection of Bell tractors, JCB digger loaders and Komatsu graders. Several late-model Caterpillar and Bell wheel loaders are already cleared for sale.
Based on the response of the marketing to date, WH director Mathew Henderson be- lieves that both the construction and transport markets are starting to pick up significantly compared to prior months. He expects to see a good turnout of buyers.
WH has been growing the number of cars and LDVs on its auction block, and there will be a mix of these. One of the exciting collections unique to this auction is a sizeable number of high-end cars from various liquidations and bank matters, including several late-model BMW “M” cars, from sports sedans to SUVs.
“While this auction is set to be one of the bigger auctions of the year, it will also include some great small items from NMC’s regional offices. This includes a large amount of surveying equipment, computers and laptops. Office and household furniture will be offered alongside the large construction equipment. There will also be a great selection of smaller machines such as compactors,” said Henderson.
