The things she’s bringing with her

When Mamokgethi Phakeng turned 50 in 2016 she chose five things to take with her into her next half century, and will take these with her into her job as VC:

● Saying “I love you” more

● Praying for someone who is causing me pain — I’m over letting things eat at me

● The joy of being the mother to all my children, biological or not

● My sense of humour

● My pink lipstick
