STICKING IT TO ’EM

-

Xolani Luvuno at the Comrades wall of honour. Luvuno, 33, who lost a leg to bone cancer in 2009, lived on the streets of Pretoria for six years, addicted to drugs. He was also jailed for five years for house-breaking. In 2016 he kicked his drug habit, and he ran his first marathon last year. He says running is his new addiction. He was due to start the Comrades Marathon today at 12.30am, which would allow him to complete the run on crutches in the 17 hours to the cut-off time.
