Five Assegais Estate in Mpumalanga goes under the hammer

● Investors with a penchant for outdoor adventure will have the opportunit­y to live out their dreams and purchase a portion of Mpumalanga’s highlands history when Five Assegais Country Estate goes under Park Village Auction’s (PVA) hammer on Wednesday July 18.

The farm property hosts part of the famous Num-Num Hiking Trail and included in the liquidatio­n auction are the three overnight camps used by hikers, as well as a lodge and two antique railway carriages serving as a tea garden for the many travellers attracted to the cultural and historical­ly rich area.

Portions 2, 3, 4 and RE of the farm Bermondsey 391 JT and portion 9 of the farm Boschoek 392 JT (measuring 122 0552ha) located on the R541 Machadador­p/Badplaas Road make up the property. It includes a farm dwelling converted and utilised as a country lodge with supporting infrastruc­ture, a manager’s cottage, staff accommodat­ion, storage and four natural trout dams.

Says PVA’s Jaco du Toit: “In addition to the beautiful property, all improvemen­ts, lodge furniture, equipment, vehicles back actor and livestock are included.”
