Helsinki, Finland, is giving away some of its retired trams, but with a few strings attached. The transport authority says it has several antique trams that aren’t quite fit for museums, but not ready for the scrapyard either. They are going free to collectors, on condition that the recipients agree to conserve them, keep them in the country — and pay the transport costs, since the trams aren’t fit to drive to their new homes.
