VLOGGERS ’LIVED EVERY DAY TO FULLEST’

- ● L S.

Several members of an extreme-travel channel on Youtube have posted a tribute to three friends swept away in a waterfall in Canada last week. The bodies of Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh, both 30, and Megan Scraper, 29, were pulled from the waters below Shannon Falls, north of Vancouver, on Tuesday. According to witness reports, the trio — all vloggers with the High on Life channel — had hiked to swim in the pools at the top of the falls. Scraper apparently slipped and fell into a fastmoving current and the men dove in to try to save her. All plunged 30m to their deaths.

Though tragic, the accident has been mired in controversy as the channel has long been associated with reckless stunts.

In 2016, Gamble and Lyakh were jailed for a week for breaking the rules in Yellowstone National Park in the US, by going off a walkway and disturbing a fragile area to take pictures for their social media sites.

On Friday, other members of their channel posted a tribute video, saying “They lived every single day to its fullest.”
