Firefighters, cars and yellow metal

Anniversary auction offers the tough and the luxurious

-

● WH Auctioneers celebrates its seventh year in business on July 31, with a monthend auction at 578 16th Road, Midrand, set to be a real fire sale.

Among the 170 lots expected for the auction are four fantastic firefighting trucks, including a Hino 4x4 pump truck, two Isuzus and a Nissan fire tender which are sure to get some heated bidding.

WH has also secured five popular Caterpillar pipe layers. “This is a first for us and we are curious to see where the bidding stops,” said director Tim Varenzakis. “We know that these units are extremely hard to find and hope that they attract a number of competitive buyers.”

With more than 60 lots of yellow metal, buyers will have a choice of nine JCB, Caterpillar and Bell TLBs, nine Caterpillar, Komatsu and Volvo excavators, and 13 rollers including single and double-drum Dynapacs and Bomags. What makes the auction exciting is the sheer number of latemodel, low-hour machines, says Varenzakis.

Those looking for trucks and cars are also in for a great day. A fleet of more than 20 delivery vehicles, including Isuzu KB250D bakkies, will be flanked by several 1.5- to three-ton Isuzu volume vans. Six assorted crane trucks and a Terex A350 rough-terrain crane will also be on offer. Mercedes, Nissan, and FUSO tippers will be available.

As per the last few auctions, there will also be about 20 late-model Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, all with low mileage and service plans. Those looking to get a great deal on an A, C, E or V Class car, SUV or van will be excited by the selection.
