BACK TO COLLEGE
After more than two years of renovation, the four-star University Arms in the British university town of Cambridge reopens this month, in a Victorian manor dating from 1834.
If you ever had pretensions towards serious studenthood, you’ll love the bespoke, leatherpadded writing desks and low ottomans in rooms full of natural light.
As well as 192 rooms and suites across four floors, it promises Sunday lunches served from the roast-beef trolley in the restaurant and bar called Parker’s Tavern, which takes its inspiration from college dining halls.
Or pick up a packed picnic to sprawl with on the grass on nearby Parker’s Piece — just be sure to have your James Joyce tucked under your arm. ● universityarms.com
