‘Someone with a mission’

Before her suicide, Khensani Maseko reported to Rhodes University that she had been raped. Her death prompted fellow students to march against sexual violence, left. The university’s vice-chancellor, Sizwe Mabizela, paid tribute to Maseko: “Ever so self-assured and comfortable in her own skin, of independent mind and never afraid to swim against the tide, Khensani was destined for great things in life. She was someone with a mission and a purpose”
