The number of folk who will get to sleep on the Great Wall of China, thanks to a partnership between the Beijing Tourism Development Committee and Airbnb — though it won’t be you if you live in SA.

Describing the wall as “a border that brings millions together each year to marvel at one of the greatest architectural feats in human history“, Airbnb is inviting hopefuls to enter by answering: “Why is it more important now than ever to break down barriers between cultures? How would you want to build new connections?”

The four winners — and their chosen guests — will enjoy several activities from September 4 - 7, including a sunset dinner, a music concert and a calligraphy experience.

Bad news for South Africans, though: entrants have to be resident in China, US, UK, India, Japan, Korea, Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain or France to qualify.
