Riandri joined Cape Point Vineyards in 2014. “I fell in love with the unique site and the beautiful, expressive sauvignon blanc,” she says. Winemaking at Cape Point has shown her the true potential of depth there is in sauvignon blanc.

FAVOURITE WINE Cape Point Noordhoek Sauvignon Blanc 2017

This wine is layered with a combinatio­n of Cape gooseberri­es, white grapefruit and a hint of fynbos. The rich and textured palate is focused with a steely minerality and fresh and vibrant acidity. R135 Nadia joined the Waterkloof team as assistant winemaker in 2008 and was appointed winemaker in 2013. Although she loves food and surfing, wine is her passion.

FAVOURITE WINE Waterkloof Circumstan­ce Syrah 2016

A great expression of dark berries and earthy tones infused with a fresh perfume scent. The fruit is carried by a fresh acidity and soft and well-balanced tannins. Elegant with great length. R187 Debbie says her involvemen­t in the wine industry was a case of fate — and a big pot full of luck. She believes winemaking is not a job, but a passion put into practice.

Simonsig Redhill Pinotage 2015

A full-bodied, wood-matured wine from a dedicated site that counts among the most awarded pinotages in SA. Attractive black berry and plum flavours with a cinnamon spice twist. Layers of black cherry and vanilla coat the palate. Full yet elegant, with lush textures and a lingering finish. R350
