NECK OF THE WOODS

-

There are plenty of game lodges where spotting wildlife from the breakfast table is, well, kind of expected these days. Few of them, however, have resident giraffes sticking their heads through the diningroom windows in the mornings in the hope of sharing your breakfast. The six-room, Out of Africa-themed Giraffe Manor, pictured, in the leafy suburbs of Langata, Nairobi, has a herd of Rothschild giraffes who wander the 12ha property at their leisure and occasionally try to walk into the manor house itself — usually when there’s food on the go. Just like your average household cat, then, only taller.
