The Sunday Times Travel podcast is now a weekly affair. Hosted and produced by travel editor Paul Ash, the podcast aims to take you on journeys in such a way that you’ll feel like you’re there.

Old radio hands called it “the theatre of mind” — the escape into another world — and that is what we’re doing with this show.

It is a free-ranging podcast. There are stories on walking in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park in KwaZulu-Natal, and a dramatic retelling of some of the stories of the battle of Spioenkop in the last AngloBoer War. Last week we went to sea on the sail-training ship Picton Castle, in which people looking for an adventure sail slowly around the world.

This week’s episode covers the work done by the men and women of the Kruger National Park’s antipoaching and game-capture teams.
