Let’s face facts, Cyril’s stimulus plan is all about garnering votes

-

The article “It’s jobs, not polls, says Cyril” (September 23) refers. Seriously? Nothing matters more to the ANC than votes next year and at every other election.

With the media it is always Ramaphosa will do this and that. But when will it concede that Ramaphosa is just the ANC’s implementer-in-chief?

Every aspect of the stimulus plan is aimed at black upliftment — not economic recovery. Then we have a Chinese loan of billions of rands that we will never be able to repay. And not leaving out the anticipated undercollection of revenues by the South African Revenue Service (Sars).

SA is in dire straits. It has less income than it spends, yet it wants to spend more and borrow more. Things we simply cannot afford.

They could start by reducing the bloated government salary bill and ploughing money into black housing, health care and education. The latter two are the foundation of every successful country.
