Glacier by Sanlam has appointed Francis Marais head of Glacier research. He was previously a senior research and investment analyst at Glacier.
Marais is a chartered financial analyst (CFA) charter holder and has a BCom (Hons) degree in financial analysis from the University of Stellenbosch. The Tourism Business Council of SA has appointed Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa as its new CEO.
Tshivhengwa, who was the former CEO of the Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa, will be responsible for overseeing the council’s day-to-day operations and driving the implementation of its strategy. Naspers has appointed the executive leadership team for the newly formed MultiChoice Group (formerly Naspers’s Video Entertainment business).
Calvo Mawela has been appointed group CEO, Imtiaz Patel executive chairman, Tim Jacobs CFO and Brand de Villiers group COO.
Naspers intends to list its Video Entertainment business separately on the JSE and simultaneously unbundle the shares to its shareholders.
Naspers CEO Bob van Dijk said: “I am confident that through the leadership of Imtiaz and Calvo, MultiChoice Group will continue on its growth trajectory and unlock even more value for its shareholders.”
