The London Underground is not the name of a lost British punk band from the ’80s. But given the regular bursts of indignant rage it causes among its users (Tube drivers’ strike, anyone?), not to mention the discordant cacaphony made by its rattling trains that moan through the tunnels and the garbled vocals, sorry, I mean station announcements, it could be a thrash metal band.
