A giver is born
Imtiaz Sooliman qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Natal in 1984. After his internship he went into private practice in Pietermaritzburg. His humanitarian flame was lit when he visited Mozambique in 1990 and saw conditions that drove him to raise R1m for drought relief. In 1992, he met Sufi teacher Shaikh Jerrahi who told him to start Gift of the Givers, saying: “You will serve all people of all races, of all religions, of all colours, of all classes, of all political affiliations and of any geographical location, and you will serve them unconditionally.” — Source: Imtiaz
