Zama Dlamini has been appointed to the Deloitte Africa board. She will represent the women’s advancement portfolio. She has a master’s in commerce, a higher diploma in IT auditing and a BCom.
Dlamini joined Deloitte in 2006 and has been a director with the firm for more than 10 years. She is currently a director in risk advisory and has 20 years of technical internal audit experience.
The Shoprite Group has appointed Zakhele Sibiya general manager of human resources (HR).
Sibiya has a national diploma in HR management and a BTech in business administration.
He joined Shoprite in 1998 as a trainee manager, was promoted to regional HR manager (northern division) in 2000 and was appointed divisional HR manager (meat markets) in 2008. In May 2018, he was promoted to manager: industrial relations and special projects at the group’s home office.
Dr Judy Dlamini has been appointed chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand.
Dlamini is a medical doctor by training and also a businesswoman, entrepreneur, author and philanthropist. She worked for HSBC Investment Bank in the corporate finance division.
She holds an MBChB from the University of Natal; a doctorate in business leadership from Unisa; an MBA from Wits University; and an innovation and entrepreneurship certificate from Stanford University.
Sentebale Makara has joined Norton Rose Fulbright as a senior associate in the construction team.
He specialises in construction, engineering, mining, energy and commercial litigation, with experience in arbitration procedures and alternative dispute resolution. He has acted on behalf of wellestablished national and international companies in the construction, mining, renewable energy and telecommunications arenas, including in relation to disciplinary and other disputes.
