‘Massive’ fleet truck, trailer sale a definite can’t-miss

-

● Park Village Auctions (PVA) has announced a “massive” sale of large fleet trucks, trailers and accident-damaged and salvaged vehicles.

PVA’s LeRoy Augustyn says this one is not to be missed.

The assets on offer stem from a national snack food manufacturing concern, Carnival Foods (Pty) Ltd, which is in business rescue and falls under the auspices of PVA’s business rescue division, which specialises in selling businesses experiencing difficulties.

“Most businesses sold under this banner are simply in need of a capital injection or restructuring to continue operating. In this case, the former applies, and we are confident that an auction of this scale will easily attract the bids required to realise the business rescue practitioner’s objectives,” Augustyn said.

“The sale represents an excellent opportunity for highway and delivery fleet operators to expand their fleets inexpensively, and there will be ample opportunity for workshop owners, panel beaters and parts vendors to snap up incredible deals.”

Truck tractors to be sold include a fleet of 2008 and 2011 Freightliner Argosy 440s, a 2003 Nissan UD290, a 2002 Iveco Eurotrakker and a 2008 Toyota Dyna 7-145.

Closed and curtain side rigid trucks include a 2004 Mercedes-Benz Atego 1517, a 2005 DAF 55-220LF, a 2005 Mitsubishi Fuso FM14-213, a 2000 Mercedes-Benz MB 800T, a 2005 Nissan UD40, a 1997 Isuzu FTR800 and a 2004 Iveco Eurocargo.

Assorted Henred Fruehauf, Knight Bodies, Afrit, Top Trailers, UBT, Kearneys and SA Truck Bodies (curtain side), volume body trailers and superlink trailers will be on the block as well.

The last lots for the day include a fleet of Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi forklifts, 2004 and 2005 Ford Bantam LDVs, a 1994 Volkswagen Citi Golf, a 2006 Volkswagen Caddy, a 2007 Volkswagen Crafter TDI, a 2008 Hyundai H100 and a 2012 Citroën Berlingo.

The majority of the vehicles are to be sold with arreard licensing, which the purchaser will need to pay.

The auction will take place at 1 and 2 First Avenue, Alberton, on December 6 from 10.30am. Viewing will take place the day prior from 9am to 3pm.
