Pain Hustlers Netflix Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts director David Yates might not be the best choice to helm a black comedy/drama about the opioid epidemic. Emily Blunt, Chris Evans and Andy Garcia do their best in this uneven film about a struggling housewife who becomes a pharmaceut­ical rep for a company run by a megalomani­ac whose greed for profit supersedes any considerat­ion of what havoc his product may be wreaking on ordinary people.

Get Gotti Netflix The machinatio­ns of the Mob continue to provide intrigue in this three-part docuseries about the rise and fall of John Gotti. The charismati­c soldier murdered his way to the top of the Gambino crime family in the 1980s before his love of the cameras and exuberant displays of wealth brought him crashing down. Featuring interviews with former associates, investigat­ors and journalist­s, it’s a thrilling tale of murder, mayhem and violence in the dying days of mafia reign in New York.

It tells the story of British reporter Mazher Mahmood who used every dirty trick in the book to get his headline-grabbing tabloid stories.

Rain Dogs Showmax Daisy May Cooper shines in this black comedy about life on the margins of Tory-era England. Cooper plays Costello, a single mother whose daily attempts to keep her and her daughter Iris with a roof over their heads and food in their bellies is complicate­d by the release from prison of her posh, gay best friend Selbyand the reigniting of their tumultuous love/hate relationsh­ip.
