The Pharmaceutical Task Group (PTG) has appointed Zwelethu Bashman as its chair and Dr Stavros Nicolaou as its deputy chair.
Bashman is president of the Innovative Pharmaceutical Association South Africa and MD of MSD South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Nicolaou has assumed the role of deputy chair after serving as chair of the PTG for several years.
“Our goal is to contribute towards an environment that promotes growth and investment in the South African pharmaceutical industry while aspiring to broaden access to medicines for all people living in South Africa,” said Bashman.
The PTG was established in 2004 to respond to the transparent pricing regulations and is an umbrella body that represents four pharmaceutical associations on issues of common interest.
