Elephant god ‘reincarnated’

-

A BABY girl is reportedly being worshipped as a god in India — she was born with a facial deformity resembling an elephant’s trunk.

Villagers in the state of Uttar Pradesh have been flocking to see the “divine” girl in the belief that she is an incarnation of the elephantheaded god Ganesha, according to Britain’s Daily Mirror.

Doctors have said that her disfigurement is probably the result of a genetic mutation, but this has not stopped people from treating her like a god and making offerings.

The newborn’s aunt, named only as Rajani, said the baby looked exactly like Lord Ganesha.

“Everybody is saying she is an incarnation of the god.”

Ganesha is one of the bestknown gods in Hinduism and is worshipped by millions of that faith as the divine manifestation of wisdom and intelligence.
