Rolling down the catwalk

HAWKS boss Berning Ntlemeza avoids media interviews, especially when they are requested by independent journalists. However, he has no qualms about talking to Gupta TV. The other day he was on TV delivering such gems as “I am a role model in this country when it comes to investigation. I know my story . . . I think the people of this country must commend Ntlemeza, he is a pure detective.”

This from a man who was found by a court of law to be “biased [and] dishonest” and to “lack integrity and honour” after he made false witness statements?

But then again, perhaps he is a role model for those who have made it their business to turn state institutions into a private army for a faction in government.
