Won’t be load shedding

SO Hogarth sees that Gauteng premier David Makhura has warned Jozi’s new mayor, Hair Man Mashaba, to “watch his tone” after the Desperate Alliance’s mayoral answer to Donald Trump warned the ANC-run provincial departments to start paying their water and electricity bills or have their services cut.

Surprising, really. Maybe Makhura has not realised that the mayor is no longer a cadre reporting to him. Or that the commercial capital’s mayor may owe his election to many individuals and political parties, but certainly not to the premier and the ANC.

Or maybe Makhura can just shut up and pay the bills already.
