Vodacom hasn’t resolved it

- VODACOM RESPONDS:

I AM 73 years old and have been caught in exactly the same way as your other readers. I was called by a Vodacom agent to say I qualified for a free router. I was assured it was completely free and there were no hidden costs involved. I have now returned from an extended holiday with my son in the UK only to find that I am paying R119 per month for this free router, which I don’t even want. All my attempts to talk to the right person at Vodacom have failed to date. —

Vodacom would like to make it clear that it condemns and does not condone any dishonest behaviour by any agent or business partner affiliated with the company. Vodacom treats matters of this nature in a very serious light and can confirm, following an investigation, that we have taken appropriate action against the trade partner and the sales agents who transgressed partner agreements. We are proactively remedying instances of similar transgressions and remain committed to putting preventive and stricter measures in place to prevent similar incidences from occurring in the future. We apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused to some of our customers.
