A man with a lot on his plate — and birthday cake too
SO, one of the First Daughters was celebrating her birthday the other day and her mother, one of the First Ladies, was overjoyed. But her happiness was not just because her daughter was turning nine. It was because the girl’s father, the First Citizen, had made a rare appearance at one of his homes to wish the First Daughter happy birthday.
So grateful was the First Lady that she took to Twitter to publicly thank “Mr President” for making a stop at his own house.
Which is why Hogarth thinks South Africans who complain about having “an absent president” should spare a thought for the First Family.
They have an absent father.
