Imagine an SA run by competent officials

-

I REFER to the letters by Stephan, Justin, Erick and Tony (“Readers’ Views”, October 9). Can the esteemed gentlemen put to paper their thoughts on what could have been “saved” had the likes of SAA, 80% of municipalities, the Post Office, and so on, been run by competent people?

The number in my small, normal mind is around R3-trillion-plus. This figure doesn’t even take into account the amounts “collared” by white-collar crime.

What a different life all South Africans and their children for generations to come could have had with hard, honest work resulting in a dignified future. — Theo Roelofsz, Marble Hall
