Paranoia takes hold

THE ANC Women’s League issued a strange statement on Friday night condemning its former president, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga, for allegedly canvassing support at a Durban meeting for her bid to become next ANC national chairwoman.

“The ANCWL respects an individual’s right to gather/meet, however individuals should not convene meetings under the auspices of the ANCWL if they don’t have organisational powers to do so.”

As it happens, Motshekga was not in Durban on the day of the alleged meeting. Paranoia has taken hold of the league.
