Meet Aura, room-service robot

-

HOTEL in Singapore is to use robots to help with some of the guest services for its rooms.

The Hotel M Social recently revealed the device, called Aura, which it says will alleviate a manpower shortage.

Aura delivers bottled water, fresh towels, toiletries and room-service meals to guests.

Hotel staff can place items in the lid of the device and tell it where to go. When the rounds are complete, it returns to its docking station.

Aura can ride in lifts, find “her” way around the hotel and send a notification to guests’ cellphones when “she” arrives at the door. What’s more, Aura has personality, officials say, meaning guests can interact with “her” when “she” is at their door.
