It seems even the Syfy channel can churn out something decent once in a while. This show is on its second season in the US, meaning that we have some catching up to do. It’s a fantasy drama series about an ensemble cast of university-age people who discover that the magic from their favourite childhood books is real and very dangerous. They’re recruited by a university and trained in magic to keep the world safe. Pegging it as an edgy Harry Potter is inevitable, with more mature themes, such as the students using magic to enhance their bonking sessions. Yep. Mature.
