High-energy hearing
Sparks may fly in parliament’s energy portfolio committee on Tuesday when Energy Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi briefs MPs on the suspension of the Central Energy Fund board and executives, and the status of the PetroSA board. She can also expect tough questions on this week’s revelations of another R80-million in fruitless spending on the nuclear programme. Deputy directorgeneral for policy, planning and clean energy Ompi Aphane, who helped draft the state’s energy master plan, was suspended by Kubayi this week.
