Don’t Pillaywith Us. AFTER years of dishing out laughter individually, veteran entertainers and comedians Neville and Mervyn Pillay have finally come together for a jam-packed show.

They previously appeared in the same line-ups, on shows like Three Standing Up, Aunty Rumba and Friends, Bruin Ous and Chaar Ous Comedy Night.

This is the first time that they will be working as a duo. Their comedy show, titled Don’t Pillay With Us, is filled with stand-up comedy, skits, parodies, impressions and audience interaction.

Topics discussed will be politics, ethnicity, prejudices, religion and being proudly South African.

“Whenever we bumped into each other we always spoke about doing something together, and when the opportunity presented itself we grabbed it.

“Although the show is titled Don’t Pillay With Us, it’s not just for Pillays. Everyone can attend,” said Mervyn.

Having worked as a Radio DJ for many years at P4, East Coast and recently Lotus FM, Neville has done it all with regards to broadcast.

He has also performed extensively throughout Kwazulu-natal and around the country.

Mervyn comes with his special brand of mimicry, imitations and impressions. Having started out doing Bollywood shows, branching into mainstream comedy has given him a new lease on life as an entertainer.

“Expect a good laugh. The show will not be your ordinary stand-up comedy because variety is the spice of life,” Mervyn said.

The solitary show is scheduled for April 30 at the izulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino.

Tickets are priced at R120 and are available from Computicket.
