Shannon Ebrahim tells it as is

-

SHANNON Ebrahim tells it like it is and her weekly column is a must for those who want to know what is really going on – especially in the Middle East. Naturally, the truth doesn’t go down well with certain minorities who choose to rebuff by distortion of facts and ridiculous rhetoric, which is clearly laughable. But the truth will come out in the end.

Thanks to Ebrahim, “Judaise” can now take its rightful place alongside “Anglicise” (to make English in form or character), colonise (which the French are historically famous for) and “Islamicise” (which interestingly nobody seems to mind).

Statements such as “Jerusalem is not even mentioned in the Koran” creates the false notion that the Israeli-palestinian conflict is about religion, when it is really about politics.

The Jewish narrative tends to ignore the Palestinian Christians who, since Jesus was Palestinian, are equally entitled to live, move about and worship freely in Jerusalem.

The extreme security measures taken by the paranoid Israelis – from the security checkpoints that seek to monitor the movements of the average Palestinian and the ordinary tourist, to the atrocious apartheid wall – is unparalleled. It would not be surprising if the Israeli government next sought to install security cameras and metal detectors at the entrance to every Palestinian home.

If the Arabs were to put down their weapons there would be peace – for Israel alone. If the Israelis put down their weapons there would be world peace.
