Meet at 1:30pm at the closed Assagay Hotel, Engen Garage on 571 Kassier Rd, to drive through to the starting point at Denny’s Mushrooms off Kassier Road. This hike takes us up to the top of the hill to Clifton Tower, overlookin­g Giba Gorge and the city and surrounds in the distance. Drinks afterwards at the Polo Pony. KSNR is regarded as one of the finest coastal/ riverine forest and bush clump/ grassland mosaic areas remaining in the greater Durban area. Game viewing is almost always guaranteed. Not a full day hike. For those wanting to remain behind after the hike, bring your own post-hike drinks or picnic. Meet at 8am at main parking area. Cost: R30. Grade: 2. Distance: ±12km.
