CAC OPEN DAY

-

CREATIVE Arts College (CAC) is a specialist training institute focusing on the creative, media and communications sectors - and exists as an access point into the industry. An accredited education and training division of the South African Film Institute, CAC offers credit bearing SAQA qualifications through the quality assurer MICTSETA and internationally recognised qualifications through City & Guilds – UK.

CAC extends an invitation to all prospective learners and parents to visit the college in order to get a first-hand experience of what the creative media and broadcast industries have to offer.

If you are interested in the fields of film, music, journalism, graphic design, animation, fashion, performing arts and similar, then take this opportunity to talk to the CAC experts and walk through the studios to get a glimpse of what is offered and how you could benefit.

The creative, media and broadcast industries are booming with opportunity, especially since the world has migrated from analogue to digital - thereby creating a vast amount of opportunity across all relative sectors. Most of the world’s population now consumes media through photos, films, news, music and art, to name a few, via a variety of sources including print, radio, television, cinema, internet and mobile devices.

Digital broadcasting has now set the scene for multiple television channels as well as many new radio stations - creating huge opportunities for creatives and media practioners.

The creative/ media industry is made up of many sectors and subsectors. Learners at CAC have the advantage of working in an environment that replicates the industry in that they work in conjunction with other departments for certain projects, as opposed to working in isolation from the rest of the industry.

The courses at CAC are career and industry-aligned, and are therefore ideally suited to meet the required criteria to launch a successful career in the industry. Guided by lecturers qualified and experienced in the relevant industry, learners are better equipped to enter their chosen field of study as they are not merely learning from textbooks. Courses have a strong practical focus. Learners work with industry standard equipment and studio sets to bridge the gap from the classroom to the work set-up.

CAC is also associated with numerous industry-aligned companies and government departments, which further ensures a whole lot of opportunities and growth for its students.

Many CAC graduates have achieved great success in the industry and become leaders in their fields. The college has received various awards for its works on high profile events and productions, and with its focus on quality delivery, it has been recognised as an Institute of Excellence by MICTSETA by being awarded the prestigious ISOE Award.

CAC hosts its Open Day on Saturday, September 30, starting at 9am. Prospective learners and parents will have the opportunity to tour the campus and speak to some of the consultants and lecturers. They will also receive an information pack regarding programmes on offer, scope and opportunities as well as the registration material. Learners may commence registration immediately to secure their place.

If you would like a career in the creative, media and broadcasting sector, then visiting CAC will be the smart thing to do. No RSVP is needed, however if you require more information, call 081 589 1088, 031 301 3313(Durban) or 033 342 2720 (Pietermaritzburg).
